      It does once you realise that you have the option of selling your current Deck and upgrading to the OLED for roughly the same price and none of the risk or downsides of DeckHD (custom BIOS requirement, lower brightness).

        Who would buy a used Steam Deck with screen modifications for about the same price as a new OLED with all of the security of being from Valve…?

          I’m talking about people with an LCD Deck who haven’t modified their screen. I’m seeing used 512gb Deck’s going for ~£350 on eBay (I expect that will fall somewhat). That plus $99 (not inc. shipping) for the DeckHD is pretty close to the same price as a brand new 512GB Deck OLED (£479).
