90Hz refresh rate. Faster memory tuning (5500 > 6400 MT/s), which is a tangible performance uplift. Torx screws into metal threads for the case so you can open it up safely.

I am simultaneously ecstatic for newcomers who get to enjoy it, and feeling just a bit dunked on. At least I got one of the nice 512 cases.

I’m the same. I’m just going to put €10 into my steam wallet every week so there is something there to pay for the Steam Deck 2 when ever it’s announced. (At least a couple of years from now.)

Because if I have handy access to it I’ll spend it on something else. Or when the time comes around to buy it I’ll talk myself out of spending it on the SD2 because either there’ll be a more pressing household expense or ill feel guilty spending that much on myself. I did the same when I got my SD1 last year. At least I know that the money I’ve put aside HAS to used for the Deck. And if I change my mind I can always use it to buy games.

If you don’t have the self control to use a savings account, what makes you believe you’ll have the self control to not spend it on games whenever something shiny comes along?

At least if you’ve got it in a savings account then it’s earning you interest and you’ve got the option to use it on something else if needed. Having the cash in your steam wallet is a waste and only benefits steam

You talk as if bank accounts give you any decent interent. A saving account give you around 0 1%-0.3% which is still nothing, best thing to do is to invest it on MF or some similar
