For the ppl saying it’s not more powerful, technically you are right. But, has better thermals, power consumption, and fan noise, for all the people that run low settings and 30/40 fps limit, due to battery life and noise reduction, this means that they can run better settings and using the same battery/silent target they were looking for, so in that sense us like having a more powerful one

This is a nonsensical take. They didn’t do anything. The SteamOS version in question isn’t actually released. And likely will be in tandem with the OLED release anyhow.
Also, Valve is in the software business before they are in the hardware business. Their aim is to sell games. The hardware just facilitates that. They don’t care if you buy a new one or old one. Or even a not-valve one. Steam is their money maker.
They so much don’t care, so they designed their own OS, APU, Proton and supported and improved their product almost 2 years.
A salesman doesn’t have to care WHICH product you buy in order for him to dress up in a suit to sell you SOMETHING.
They/Valve recognize that most people just stick to what is easy. If they have a Steam Deck, it’s very likely they will just buy most of their games on Steam since that is the easy route.
They put effort into making you want to use Steam so you do most of your gaming within the Steam system. All of that support and improvement facilitates an experience that makes it easy to stay there and buy there.

Well, no. The easiest way is chosen by competitors - take market ready-made processor solutions and install Windows. Valve’s way has nothing in common with simplicity.

I can read, do not worry. But don’t simplify everything to shopping with Steam. They are expanding and trying a new niches.
Not doing anything would be leaving the original screen alone. They literally made it better. Fair, the update isn’t live, but I’ve used it on the beta branch for months. But they literally did something. It’s honestly nonsensical to say they did nothing. Crazy how people will complain about both a software and a hardware answer to a common problem.
