understanding that lots of posts about a hardware issue doesn’t equal a huge widespread issue is a canon event we all must go through. The reason I do not fret about oled problems despite the posts is because of the past examples of this happening.
Now we get people on the gyro + flick stick train :)
If I’m not streaming a AAA game or emulating an old game, I’m typically hopping in for a 30 minute session of COD WWII. Playing with gyro and flick stick is just immensely fun and I now prefer it to mouse even, mainly cause I’m sick of my desk. It runs very well and I just fight bots and shut my mind off. Good times
almost bought the higher end versions just because there was no broken “join a waitlist” and I really didn’t want an etched screen.
me waiting for oled orders to go live
me waiting for valves servers to let me place an order
me waiting for oled to ship
me waiting for oled to arrive
me waiting for games to install
peace…
This is why I made a good guy valve post about how they knew the oled was coming and still chose to give lcd users a screen upgrade via software and people got so mad it was insane lol.
I don’t understand. I thought the whole reason the old deck couldn’t get an oled screen was because the bios would have to completely change. I don’t know a lot about BIOSes, but how does a system update now let an installation be oled compatible? Is the bios just saved on the board or something?
I play the offline arcade mode sometimes
Not doing anything would be leaving the original screen alone. They literally made it better. Fair, the update isn’t live, but I’ve used it on the beta branch for months. But they literally did something. It’s honestly nonsensical to say they did nothing. Crazy how people will complain about both a software and a hardware answer to a common problem.
Who exactly is getting shafted?
Cod ww2 (2017) is a great game that can run on pretty decent settings, full res with good looking AA for a very clean presentation, while running at around 80-110 fps. It a COD at just the right time where it still looks good, but the engine isn’t so advanced that you just get bad performance even on low like some modern games. Used to be that low settings were potato, but many games make low settings still decent looking.
99% of the time I play on deck. 99% of the time it’s streaming to the deck from my PC.
