I got my deck back in April of this year. and honestly i want to get the new OLED, i can afford it but i also don’t want to. I’m emotionally attached to my tech like their surrogate children. Not only that but if i buy it how long do i have till the next gen comes in and i’m sitting on two decks?

Same situation here, got the 256 version in April, fully modded it with new fan, sticks, and 1TB SSD. Will sell it and get the new OLED model.

I don’t feel like selling off my Steamdeck after the price drop and then getting the new version for an extra charge of €200-300. I mean sure the OLED is nice and better, but the LCD isnt bad either. So i will keep mine, but i will buy for sure the SD2 when it will be released!

Resist the shiny new toy urge. Your deck is perfectly capable, save yourself that endorphin hit for if it breaks and you need a replacement. You’ll thank yourself later for not giving in to the marketing demons.

I find the screen too small on the SD so doubt the OLED could sway me. I’m so grateful that I can connect my iPad and use that as my default screen.

No, OLED is meant for new owners, not existing ones. Same situation as with the Switch, only Valve instead of Nintendo.

Not worth it to me. Gonna keep running my steam deck just like I’m still running my V1 switch
