I enjoyed both of those Zelda immensely and I would like another game similar to them. I’m thinking about Marvel’s Spider-man, but would love to hear more options.

I like to recommend Astroneer. It is not a game with combat but there is a lot of exploring, unlocking secrets and building. It is a very relaxing game until you wonder off too far and forget your way back and die.

Good indie title that has some lite RPG elements, climb anything, glide and is super cozy is lil’gator game. It’s also currently on sale for 40% off. You can also check out Immortals Fenyx Rising. It’s listed as Deck playable though I admittedly haven’t tested that one myself on SD.

I have both of them on the switch! I really like Immortals Fenyx Rising and it’s a good option I didn’t think about!

ngl Genshin is pretty close to BOTW. I’d only start playing if you’ve got the patience and discipline to avoid its gacha mechanics though.

I feel like they are similar in graphics, but (to me at least) the gameplay feel totally different. I like the freedom of botw and totk but genshin impact is constantly giving missions and suggesting things to do

Not a direct comparison, but I found the exploration aspect of BotW surpassed by outer wilds. Especially if you like the theme of camping in space and solving a mystery.

Edit: answer to the wrong comment 😅

I played a little bit, but I can’t get into it. Any tips?

Elden Ring has an open world inspired by BOTW that takes things to the next level. It also runs great on the Deck, you can lock 30fps on the Deck preset, which is High everything. Just change it from 1280x800 to 1280x720 since it only actually displays 720p regardless.

I love videogames but I’m a pretty bad player, so souls are impossible to me… I just get frustrated because I don’t have the patience to learn patterns and I’m horrible at timing, for parring and some things

I’m not good either. The difficulty of these games is way overrated. You can just grind a bit and over level for an area or boss, like you can in any JRPG. You can also play as a sorcerer instead of being pure melee, which makes the game far easier because you don’t have to learn to parry and don’t have to dodge as often. You can just run past many hard enemies, or come back to fight them later when you’re stronger because it’s an open world. You can summon spirit ashes, which are NPC minions that can draw aggro and tank for you while you pew pew the enemy from a distance. You can summon human co-op allies to help with tough bosses. You can enjoy and beat this game if you give it a chance.

Yeah Elden Ring is unorthodox as an answer but honestly it was the only game since BOTW that gave me that feeling of freedom and wonder. I think the novelty in the world being so contrasting in its style and genre, and of course the difficulty in combat, make it just as satisfying if not more so. I would say Zelda is a better game for exploration but Elden Ring surpasses in so much, that they are pretty much equals.

Then there’s Fenyx rising as people have said.

Outer Wilds I think isn’t similar much but it’s just one of those games you MUST play. I still can’t stop thinking about it since I finished, and now must live vicariously through others experiencing it for the first time. Play it. Play. It.

Mario Odyssey? Calm tone, open-ish world

I’m pretty bad with souls, I tried Elden Ring though, but it just makes me confirm how bad I’m with difficult games… 😅

Haven’t thought about Mario Odyssey, at the time I saw a full walkthrough but never get to really play it.

I played it on switch, it’s a great game. I tried to get back into it to play the dlcs but I’m unable to get used to the controls again… 😅
