The amount of things I’ve added to my original deck that I have to remember.

  • About 14 different mods on Decky that I need to make notes for.
  • CryoUtilities
  • Chiaki
  • XBPlay
  • zShaderCacheMover/Killer
  • 3rd Party Launchers

I wish there was a migrate tool like mobile phone have these days.

I’m almost tempted to just go with the 512gb OLED to swap the SSD’s over and then my OG 512gb is still loaded with a 512 ready to sell.

I am. If I buy one, I was thinking I’ll just pop the damned SSD into it (or may be copy the home directory over ssh if I don’t want to open it up immediately).

But wow, people here have really helped me to look at it in a different way - never thought it would be fun but now I kinda see it.

Dreading ? No , but you are looking for the word LAZY. I’m actually excited to set it up , get high ash and restart the fun process of spending hours using STEAM GRID DB to update my new library of games 🙌🏽😭🔥 …

dont worry, there will be guides how to clone content of your current ssd to oled deck and what to pay attention to

I am on the fence between doing that (ie transferring soul of old deck to new) or setting oled from scratch while my current deck is around. that way I will see what I’m missing to set and how it was done before

You can either put in your existing SSD to the new Deck or just do a drive clone via CloneZilla or dd if you don’t want to manually set everything up again.

I plan to take the 2TB SSD out of my SD and move it to the OLED SD then put the original SSD back in the LCD before giving it to my brother in law. No setup needed.
