So everyone selling their OG 512GB Decks for $300-350 right now.
But Valve’s remaining stock of LCD 512s is retailing for $450, and the OLED 512 (without the etched screen) will retail for $550.
I think a used LCD 512 will be considered by many to be better than a new LCD 256 (priced at $400).
As such, I think my used LCD 512 will go for $450-500, so the upgrade to OLED will cost me$50-100 net. (Unless I go for the limited edition, in which case obviously it’s a fair bit more.)

I’m having a hard time not buying the upgraded steam deck… but I’m thinkin I may get the Lenovo Legion Go instead. Be stupid to have two same devices with different screens 🤣
It’s also limited edition I wanted to get one but it’s gonna be impossible
Isn’t the OLED technically a PC upgrade??
Ugh I get my bonus next month from work and it’s gonna take all of my will to keep my impulsive ass from getting it
When SpongeBob is in need of water and continually denies the truth
People here acting like they’re selling one run of the OLEDS and you’ll never be able to buy them ever again. You can always buy it… later.
I’ll wait until there’s a resolution and cpu/gpu upgrade. Until then it’s my favorite emulation and streaming console.
I honestly think that the OLED Deck is going to be the silver bullet that solves ALL of my problems.
I did think, previously, that it was going to be that really expensive jacket I bought last month. Or the new bike. I thought they would solve everything, but they didn’t.
I once thought it was going to be that set of headphones I really wanted, but they didn’t, and so I went ahead and bought a DAC and Amp to compliment them.
Lo and behold, they solved nothing. Even when I bought those AirPod Pro Max’ for hi-fi on the go… only minimal improvement (possibly because the release of the iPhone 15 had rendered my 14 Pro Max obsolete).
But, you know, when I go to bed at night, I really do think - this time - that having immersed myself in that gorgeous OLED screen for ten minutes before is going to take my mind right off that empty savings account, mounting car repair bills, and loaded credit card debt.
I just know it. This time 🤞
I just use game streaming
I like mine. And don’t like how the limited edition looks. A lot of people putting themselves in a bad financial spot because of fear of missing out.
I play mine in the dock a lot more than handheld, TBH.
I am keeping hope alive for a trade up program. Otherwise I just keep the LCD. If they offer a trade up and it is like $150 or something I would do it.
+ mortgage
I told myself that I wouldn’t get a new PC until after I move again since taking a break from gaming. But now I want game again, but no budget for pc let alone move.
The steam deck is the perfect solution for me right. 😄
