I’ve been wanting a steam deck since release but couldn’t afford it. Lately I was saving up to get the 512gb and hoping for a black Friday or fall sale to bring the price down a bit. Then the oled was announced and that 512 dropped by $200. I debated on it for a day and argued with myself, deciding that I could do so much with that $200, I could get all the accessories I could want with that and not break myself. Plus I’d be getting the one I’d planned on all along, the one I was excited for before the announcement and it was a better sale than I’d ever hoped for. With everyone talking about the oled I gotta wonder, am I alone here? My 512 lcd came in the mail yesterday.

Most likely going to do the same.

I have an original 2017 Switch and I have never missed the OLED screen. It is just fine for me for a handheld and 200 € price different is just a lot. With 200 € I could also get the dock so I can stream to it from my PC.

Also I hear that the 3.5 update made the LCD much better.

But I’m not yet 100% on it. I’m not even 100% on getting the Steam Deck even as my Switch covers my on-the-go needs very well and I could feel overwhelmed with another handlheld.

My switch is struggling. It’s the first model (got it used) and the battery is showing it’s age. For some reason one side disconnects the joycon all the time too and I’ve no idea why that happens. It doesn’t really get played much because that battery doesn’t even last an hour anymore. I’m getting a battery pack for the steam deck, I’ll probably use it for the switch too.
