I wonder how the color improvements work on a fundamental level.
Is it basically just wrapping the SRGB Colorspace down to like 60% so the screen can reach the full range of colors.
I assume it looked so washed out before because the games and OS were expecting a certain color on the srgb color triangle but the deck screen could only meet it 2/3 the way leaving it undersaturated.
And now its basically transferring the srgb color space to a smaller one and pumping the saturation a bit so that every color can be represented properly.
That would probably fix the things looking heavily undersaturated but its still not really accurate or as good as a full SRGB screen which would look similarly accurate but with more real saturation
