AK-Brian@alien.topBtoHardware•The first Ryzen Z1 Mini PC has been benchmarked, reaches 40W | Tom's HardwareEnglish1·2 years agoThis is the 4CU Z1, not the more interesting 12CU Z1 Extreme, for anyone wondering.
The author isn’t particularly clear about this, equating it interchangeably (within the very first sentence) to both the 4CU ROG Ally and 12CU Lenovo Legion Go. Towards the end, they state that the Z1 is “still firmly below the Ally,” the latter of which can be had in both Z1 and Z1E variants.
Admittedly, AMD isn’t particularly helping the situation with their disparate naming conventions, but still. Different performance tiers.

AK-Brian@alien.topBto AMD•AMD Threadripper PRO 7995WX 96-core Zen4 CPU rips 201K Cinebench R23 OC record with peak 1.6KW power - VideoCardz.comEnglish1·2 years agoThis has already been bumped down to 4th place. Top score at the moment is Safedisk’s team, with 210,702. Crazy stuff, but it does look like they all politely staggered their results to give everyone a few minutes in the spotlight. ;)
You could try using a small microfiber cloth with alcohol (you did mention previously trying IPA, but avoid using acetone as it can affect the substrate around the IHS) and even pressure to get a consistent movement while cleaning. If you brush your fingernail gently across the surface, do you feel texture? If so, it’s likely light abrasion and further cleaning won’t help.
It’s essentially cosmetic, you can apply new paste and carry on as normal. Paste is designed to fill those small imperfections to begin with, and you won’t notice once you start using your system. :)

It’s stamped on the shell and listed as such in the manual, so it would appear to be on Samsung.
240Hz on this display requires the use of DisplayPort, which is what makes it a perfect (well, imperfect) example.

What GPU? Does it show up (properly or otherwise) in device manager?
If you initially boot with a display connected to the iGPU, does swapping the cable over to the GPU result in any display output?

I did some light digging, but it would appear that the updated file simply hasn’t been made available yet. This could mean that the page was taken down until it can be updated to include the new revision. Give it a few days, but after that perhaps check in on the Intel support forums to see if it’s just a server side goof.
AK-Brian@alien.topBto Intel•14600K - Any recommendations for Mini ITX motherboard?English1·2 years agoIf you need ECC UDIMM support and true ITX, there are quite literally zero options on the market.

This is perhaps more superficial than I’d care to admit, but every time he pronounces Genoa like that it causes my eye to twitch.
I can’t see any on either Chrome or Duck Duck Go (Chromium) mobile. I was genuinely curious, too, as that sounds like a bad experience, but I just can’t replicate it at all.
