14700K all the way.

- I’m using a NH-U12A air cooler and temperatures when gaming are around 60 degrees. You’ll get lower temperatures if you have a 360 mm AIO.
- I upgraded from a 12600K to a 14700K. I also have a 4080 (and the same case). Definitely worth it as it will allow you to get another 3-4 years use of your motherboard and RAM. And don’t believe all the negative reviews - the 14700K is a very good CPU especially if APO becomes more widespread.
- I’d go with the newer CPU over the older one, so 14700K.
11·2 years ago 11·2 years ago- I went from i5 7500 to i5 8600K to 9700K to 9900K to 12600K to 14700K. So whenever the fancy takes me.
- 14700K all day long.
1·2 years ago 1·2 years ago- Yes, the 14600K will be more than enough for 1080p.
- I upgraded from a 12600K to a 14700K and for me it was worth it. From 6 cores at 4.9 GHz to 8 cores at 5.6 GHz.

- I updated my BIOS and installed the driver - what next?
- With a 3070Ti you are likely to be GPU bottlenecked rather than CPU. So you are probably not going to much, if any, of a performance increase with the 14600K.
1·2 years ago 1·2 years ago- I updated the BIOS on my Z690 MSI board before installing my 14700K. No problem at all.
1·2 years ago 1·2 years ago- I recently switched from NH-D15 to NH-U12A with no noticeable difference.
1·2 years ago 1·2 years ago- I have my 14700K limited to 253W. Unless you bought your CPU only to run benchmarks 24/7 you won’t notice a difference in performance. It will use less power though which means less heat. When set to 253W my CPU will run at 5.5GHz in games on all cores so still a beast.
- Definitely not an i9.
1·2 years ago 1·2 years ago- About 35000 with 253W on PL1 and PL2 and LLC on mode 5. Gets very toasty with a NH-U12A reaching in the 90s.
1·2 years ago 1·2 years ago- What lite load setting did you use?
- I have the same MSI Z690 Pro-A motherboard. Are you trying an undervolt?
This guys got a problem with his cooling. My 14700K idles about 10 degrees C above ambient.
