  • It’s actually going to be interesting seeing how this fairs in terms of resale… I mean, with a console i.e. Gameboy or Vita, you have a platform to collect physically for… The Deck is just a PC, so when it becomes outdated, who’s gonna wanna buy the Limited Edition Version of the old model OLED Deck when the Deck 2 OLED is out

  • As some have mentioned, many games are borked (broken) cause of anti-cheat, but the majority of single player experiences on Steam are playable. Some examples of Borked Anti-Cheat games off the top of my head are: new CODs, PUBG, Destiny 2, R6, and The Finals.

GTA V definitely works well in Single Player (from experience). Haven’t tried multiplayer but I assume it works well too. Its gold on ProtonDB. CS2 will also run fine but it is really no fun to play at 60hz against KBM players at 144+hz. You could hook up to a monitor with high refresh rate and a KB&M to remedy that.

In terms of FPS’s, Halo Infinite is my fav on Deck since you play against a bunch of Xbox-controller players (and a majority of them are also playing at 60fps, meaning competitive parity)

And as a companion to Mac, it certainly works well. You can share USB C accessories across the two devices, and use a USB C monitor with PD to have minimal desk clutter.

Deck has gone on the same sale twice since this summer. 10% off of $400, 15% off $530 and 20% off $650. While great prices, it is still cheaper to swap the ssd yourself than buy any of the configs (if you know how to).

Deck Refurbished is the way to go. $320 for the 64gb eMMC storage. I’d even recommend gamestop as you can get deck for $303 with a pro membership
