If I’m not mistaken I think Valve limits sales by Steam account, which makes it a lot harder to scalpers to grab multiple units. Unlike, say, Walmart, which will allow the same person to buy 50 PS5s and resell them on the Walmart website.
the problem is there so few units that even just a couple of scalpers getting through is gonna ruin it for others.

I was able to sell a Counter-strike knife for 800 dollars days before the release so i’m essentially getting it for free lol.
As someone who plays zero multiplayer shooters I am astonished by this.
Lol I got the knife maybe 6 years ago from a crate which Is very lucky, it appreciated from 40 dollars to 800 over that time, don’t play the game anymore so I just sold it for the new deck, gonna use my old one as a PC for my office
Just curious, what was special about the knife? Was it the stats? Did it look cool?
its about rarity, the skins are simply cosmetic, but as crates go out of circulation and are no longer offered in the shop they get rarer, this knife was a karambit which is a very coveted knife. the CS skin market has just gotten very inflated over the years.

It’s actually going to be interesting seeing how this fairs in terms of resale… I mean, with a console i.e. Gameboy or Vita, you have a platform to collect physically for… The Deck is just a PC, so when it becomes outdated, who’s gonna wanna buy the Limited Edition Version of the old model OLED Deck when the Deck 2 OLED is out
It’ll be a while but I believe this edition will eventually have a bit of prestige to it. But that’s in, 15-20 years. Like the people paying too much for a Duke Xbox controller.
