The Steam Deck isn’t even the most powerful handheld. For people that want to play AAA games consistently a PC is still a great option. I like my PS5 but it only really gets turned on for exclusives.

Having a PC is just too useful. I do a lot more with it than just game and I prefer to keep the Deck as a gaming only device rather than worry about balancing space between games and other activities.
That is not a commensurate comparison.
Stands for Best on Earth.
I’ve seen some people online who opened their Deck and it feeling less solid after (e.g. looser sticks). For devices this valuable I don’t think it’s worth risking opening them up unless it’s to repair something. I learned my lesson opening joycons, what a nightmare that was for my butterfingers.
I think everyone is overreacting about this. Either way the device is awesome. I’ve loved my OLED Switch so I doubt I’ll know what I’m missing by going with the glossy screen.
Additionally, matte screens are a sensory nightmare for me so I think I can deal with seeing my ugly mug during loading screens.
512GB OLED Finally shipped. Ontario Canada, Order 36mins after launch. No ETA for delivery.
At least you’re not in Canada. No sign of anyone here getting theirs shipped.
Only US as far as I am aware. Nothing shipped in Canada.
Gonna try streaming Old Man Ring from my PC.
Are people only referring to the LE? The regular OLED models still show 3-5 business days for me.
I returned my Steam Deck because of the lack of OLED. The Switch OLED was so worth it to me, makes the regular switch look like a toy.
I don’t buy games on release because of my backlog. I don’t have time to play everything as it comes out so I naturally end up playing them 6 months to a couple years later. Bugfixes are just a positive coincidence.
I got the SD OLED to complement my desktop because it is the only PC handheld in its class that is well built with good customer support and backing. All the other options are missing features, have defects, or have abysmal customer support. The LCD was the only thing keeping me from getting a SD.
