Also there are several techs like directstorage for having a gpu stream assets directly from the ssd, why cripple that?
why would the reads be crippled?

80 ms grey to grey response time? What the fuck?! How are people praising this display everywhere? That puts it close to unusable. It’s 5 frames at 60Hz…
That has nothing to do with your claim that this is some kind of proxy war between China and Taiwan.
that’s just your interpretation man
First off that is just not true, the human eye can perceive the difference, but the change may not be noticeable to those who are not familiar
Pretty much. The theoretical results are about what basically amounts to seeing light pulses. To see the actual difference in a game it requires not only a very good monitor (most high refresh rate monitors are trash with worst case response times way longer than a frame time) and a very fast moving object. Past certain refresh rate these conditions just become unlikely, so you don’t really see a difference unless it’s a synthetic test.
Yea, the only people who praise apple’s cross-device compatibility are people who own only apple devices. Go figure.
They have no interest in any kind of cross-device compatibility beyond how it might serve you ads better/faster.
What? It’s apple that’s lacking compatibility. Even SMB is gimped. You got enclosed in an apple garden and you like it, ok, but your assessment is completely backwards.
they are not selling your data, that would be dumb
the expensive stress is what people responsible for this are experiencing right now
that’s not a very hard workload
You seriously can’t think of a better title?
idk I just have no intention of watching a video that doesn’t tell me what it is in the title
that 8gb on Apple Silicon = 16gb on x86
that’s obviosly false, the ISA is hardly relevant
I’m sorry mate, you’re too far gone
Android already proves that your point is moot
at least the media got something out of it with the announcements of the announcements
look for example at this SSD https://www.techpowerup.com/ssd-specs/samsung-990-pro-2-tb.d862
it has up to 216GB dynamic SLC cache - this is repurposing the free TLC NAND as SLC.
it also has 10GB static SLC cache - this is dedicated, separate to the TLC NAND.
