I used LG a lot and once they left the market I had to look for alternatives. I like small phones so it was between the S22 and Asus Zenfone. I considered a Sony too, even though it was long. Ultimately what swayed me was that Asus had too many issues (people waking up to bricked phones) and not enough updates. Sony didn’t have a gallery and it had that horribly ugly Android quick settings interface, with humongous rectangles instead of small circles. Then I got a free A32 5G from my carrier and tinkered around with it. I loved it right away. Very intuitive UI, looks great, every action is anticipated and the interface offers all the options you need at any time. Photo management and editing in the gallery was easy and very streamlined. Even better than LG. It basically fixed all my complaints about other Androids I’ve used. After that, I decided to go with the S22 for my next phone. I wouldn’t be happy with any other phone after experiencing Samsung honestly.

Yep, Apple gets salty when people want to use other brands’ accessories so they make them seem like a bad product by taking away features. With an iPhone, you can’t reply to messages from a Garmin or any other watch that offers the feature. You can’t clear out the Garmin app or else functionality of the watch breaks down, and you can’t choose which notifications come to your watch. All or nothing.

Yeah, that’s annoying. It used to stretch sideways, too, if you scrolled side to side. That was the worst and it actually made me nauseous. Recent Android UI also made the quick settings panel unbearably ugly. I’m grateful to Samsung for protecting us from it, haha. I understand why you can’t control every single aspect of UI behavior. There would be so many settings that no one would even bother trying to find the right one, and it would require a lot of extra programming. I am happy with the options that Android and Samsung provide.

It’s so amusing how people care about what’s “outdated.” Do you like the teardrop notch or the massive notch that’s basically a bezel with two reverse notches of a bit of screen showing through, lol. Anyway, that’s really not the biggest difference at all. The two phones are not comparable IMO.

Personal preference I guess. I had a phone with a notch and it was so awful. I couldn’t stand it. After 2 years I got a Samsung S22 and sold the other phone. Usually I keep my previous phone as a backup but I didn’t even want it in my house because it looked so ugly to me, lol. I like the hole punch. I also like the A series teardrop. I wouldn’t mind if phones retained a bigger bezel until they progressed enough to make an under screen invisible camera. Bezels aren’t inherently bad IMO, as long as they serve a purpose. And they used to add character to phones, honestly. I liked it when the bezel color matched the phone rear plate color.

  • I started using wireless headphones when I had my eyes on a phone without a jack. I was suspicious because the only set I tried up to that point was one free one that my spouse got free from work, and they were not good. But I gave it another chance and found the perfect ones. It was so freeing, honestly. I use headphones for everything because no one in the family wants to hear each other’s media. I watch stuff on my phone or tablet when cooking or folding laundry and being tied down with limited range of movement SUCKED. Being able to walk away from your device while listening is a blessing.

Here’s the thing, though. Those tiny buds that come with charging cases are SO bad. I can’t fathom why they are so popular. You always have to carry the case, you can’t hang them on your neck, if one falls out of your ear, it falls on the ground and can get damaged or lost. Battery life sucks. They are incredibly expensive. And there are no controls. I use Sony WI-C310. They go down to $18 (in the US at least) all the time. The battery packs on the sides weigh it down and keep it in place as it hangs around your neck. You can’t lose one, you don’t need a case, you don’t even need pockets. Battery lasts for days, and you have controls for start/pause/volume/skip and to answer and end calls, right at your fingers.

As for your current wired ones, use them at home with your computer. Use them any time with your phone except when you are running. You can also get a bluetooth adapter which turns your headphones into BT ones. You plug them into a small device that connects to your phone (you may need to plug a second small device into your phone, I’m not sure).
