AMD•New AM4 Upgrade - AMD's launching Ryzen 7 5700X3D in January - OC3DEnglish
1·2 years agoAMD has done a really good job with socket retention. With another SKU releasing in 2024, 7 years is a long time for support and if anyone stuck with Ryzen 1000 or 2000 until now, then you really got your money’s worth and just get a drop in upgrade.

1·2 years agodepends on if you really want DDR5, and how much you are going to spend on a 5800X3D.
I have a 7800XT and the 5600X is hurting its perf in CPU bound games like Warzone and I’m planning to get either the 5800X3D or the 5700X3D if its a wider release.

DDR5 is AM5 only, so you need to switch to an AM5 processor too. If you already have a 5800X3D, you basically have no need to upgrade for awhile, unless you have shit RAM at like 2666M/T or something
