  • I think it’s pretty good, but with some caveats.

There’s some texture pop-in which is a bit annoying, and performance still goes down in act 3. But the game generally performs well most of the time with a little tinkering in the settings, especially now that they’ve added FSR 2.0. It’s much better than it used to be.

However, it has the problem a lot of games have on the Deck: the interface and entire look of the game is made for much larger screens, so some things are a bit difficult to read/spot. Not nearly to the point of unplayability, but definitely not as optimal as playing on a big screen.

It’s a great game, so I’d recommend getting it even if you can only play on the Deck, and especially if you use your deck a lot (maybe you travel for work or something), but I do think the base experience on PS5 is going to be better than on the Deck. Then again, you can say that for almost anything because the PS5 is much more powerful.

Bundles are, aside from giveaways, objectively the best value deals in gaming.

However, it depends on if the games are actually of any interest to you. I’d rather spend £10 on one game in a Steam sale that I know I’ll play than £10 on a bundle of games I never will.

Of course, you’re not going to get the newest AAA releases in a bundle, but you can definitely get some great games here and there.

If you’re low on money but looking to build up your library, then you should:

    1. Check humble bundle and Fanatical frequently to see if they have anything that interests you. Sure, most of the stuff they have is going to be mid, but every now and again, they have something great.

    2. Keep an eye out for sales. Look at isthereanydeal.com to see if there are any good deals.

    3. Make an Epic account and grab the free game every week. As well as Amazon Prime, if you’re a Prime subscriber.

    4. Look into f2p options. There are some great games that play great on the Deck: Genshin Impact, Warframe, Path of Exile, Rocket League, Asphalt.

Nope. I don’t upgrade my phone every year, and that would arguably be more of an upgrade.

The extra battery and OLED screen would be nice, but ultimately not worth spending hundreds of pounds on. It’s not like there will be games that only run on the OLED model, even if it does have slightly better performance.

I’d rather save and wait for the Steam Deck 2 which will offer a m ore substantial performance upgrade, probably in 2-3 years.
