There was a bug with watch OS10.1 where third party apps were tanking battery life. My series 8 was dying every 4 hours or so. For me, uninstalling the MobyFace app resolved the issue. When 10.1.1 dropped, I didn’t bother to reload the app. So if you have the MobyFace app, it may be worth trying to remove it

So I think the issue folks are reporting is more serious than it’s given credit for. We aren’t talking a slight loss of performance. I went from charging my watch once in the morning to 100% and having 50% when I wake up the next day. Now my device won’t fully charge without overheating, and dies every 3-4 hours. It’s not a slight change, but a very serious issue.
It’s getting worse. See how it was at about 50% this morning when I plugged it in? It consumed 50% of battery over a 24 hour period. That’s normal. But consuming 60-80% every 4 or so hours is not. And getting to hot while charging is also new
So glad it’s not just me. Updated this morning while it was on the charger, and it just tanked in two hours
