Sunshine and Moonlight!

I’m seriously considering making the oled deck the main place I play games.

I believe that Moonlight doesn’t support HDR yet. Also, your monitor or TV (or HDMI dummy plug) will need to support HDR on your desktop for HDR to work through streaming.

I’m the opposite, if the limited edition was available with just the transparent shell without the colored joysticks and rear vent, I would been a lot more tempted.

Does that work? I figured it was more of a “Linux software not updated to allow HDR” kind of problem.

I thought it was worth a look. I’ve seen it before where a cable didn’t support 4k60 that the device wouldn’t go to 1080p60 either.

Check your HDMI cable. You’re probably using one that isn’t specced to support 4k60.

I know if it’s one that says “HDMI with ethernet” on it it will definitely work.

$300 for my 512. I asked for $350 expecting to get talked down, so I got what I expected. It feels low but oh well. I fucking love this OLED screen.

Also just swapped SSDs, as I had upgraded my LCD deck with a 1 TB drive from Microcenter. The only thing is that the ribbon cable on the OLED deck goes over the metal heatshield, so it was a little tricky carefully lining the SSD up into the slot with the heatshield still semi-attached.

I love this OLED Deck though. The screen is freaking gorgeous!

Honestly, getting something like a ROG Ally and a dock is about the same price (though obviously would have 16 GB vs the 32 GB as tested) and you’d have a device that could be used handheld too.

This bypasses the security lock function on your desktop mode if you’ve set that up, by the way.

Probably Ori so I can show my wife the difference OLED and HDR make directly comparing the new with the old before I swap SSDs and list my old one for sale.
