Was it a stock Deck that you sold for £319? Good work if so! I’m assuming I’ll be lucky to get £250 given the refurbished 512GB is £309. Also thanks, I’ll be having a look if our work rewards provider offers Steam gift cards, I didn’t even dream they would. Also also that case on the 1TB model does look good. I have a Tomtoc slim carry case and it really doesn’t feel like it’s protecting the screen enough.
I have the 512GB LCD and I’ll be buying the 512GB OLED, and moving my 2TB SSD across. I get so much out of my Steam Deck that it’s worth it to me to spend the money on an upgrade. I almost never use my PC now.
If it were just about the screen I’d have a tough decision on whether to upgrade, and I like to think I wouldn’t go for it. Rather it’s the reduction in fan noise that appeals, as I don’t like playing with the fan annoying me. It means that I currently avoid playing demanding games and often cap the TDP at 9W to keep from noticing the fan. So the new model could actually be a considerable performance upgrade for me!
Yes, I’m a little bit annoyed at the resale value I’ll get on the LCD deck after 12.5 months, but such is life and it isn’t like I bought it as an investment.
I use the suspend function very frequently. On the rare occasion I have audio issues on resuming I’ll save and restart at that point.
