This sub is just a meme page with a thousand posts a day talking about the same thing (VS OLED, I’m keeping the old one, model comparison etc). I get the enthusiasm for the OLED but is there no quality control from the mods here anymore?

ricardosteve@alien.topBtoSteam Deck•All versions of the Steam Deck are great, and it’s awesome to see how successful this has been for Valve.English1·2 years agoNo one is saying these things, I know you want to make up false narratives in your mind to get your Internet points, but this sub is already littered with useless memes and “here’s my Deck with a landscape” posts. We need this sub to go back to the days where it was about the deck and not a social media meme page with false narratives, so shoo.
I’ve always known about the touch but never used it. Especially since using the trackpads + the on-screen keyboard is satisfying to me, so I tend to even forget I can simply type on the screen.
Yes, it’s a portable device. No need to announce everywhere you go and post the deck on top of a landscape, this isn’t Instagram. Everyone already knows this.
ricardosteve@alien.topBtoSteam Deck•RIP to those guys who've spent the last year with garages full of 64GB Steam Deck LCDs that they've been trying to sell on Facebook Marketplace for $999 each.English1·2 years agoNo, SCALPER, no one is drunk here. I know you’re all triggered for being called out and then pretend you’re just some “moral” person suddenly denying the existence of scalpers, but you’re clearly one of them. Fuck all scalpers.

Either way stop defending this with “what if”. There are lots of ways to make money, even in those “parts of the world”. Scalping is scummy and trashy even if it happened on Mars.
Damn, that sucks! I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. Whenever I sell used consoles here in Portugal I send them through the mail/post, with an option that they have to pay the delivery man upon arrival to get the package. Then I get a letter later on and can go to a post office and get my money, in cash. So the only downside is, if it’s a scammer, I get my item back and only lose the delivery fee. If that’s an option when you’re not selling through eBay or in person, I highly recommend using it. And it’s a win-win for both people, as genuine buyers only pay when the package is at their door.
