People accusing Valve of all people of a cash grab just really have no clue what they’re talking about. Gabe Newell has been on the record countless times talking about how difficult he finds it to decide when to release new versions so as not to fuck over the consumer base.
You forgot to mention no VRR
I don’t own either versions and I would be happy with either one. I like that both options are available, there’s a cheaper version and improved version. My friend who owns an OG Deck (obviously) doesn’t want to upgrade, he is happy with it.
I wish people could just be grateful for what they have. Just because there’s an objectively improved version doesn’t mean the OG Deck is worthless.
The success is probably why we’re getting this version.
I’m selling my deck to get the OLED. Is it the best investment? No. But, I love the product and I can afford the upgrade.
I was going to, but my wife said she wanted a SD so now I really have an excuse to get the OLED. my 512 will go to my daughter and her 64 will go to my wife (daughter plays far more. Wife will honestly probably never play it)

My only problems with the deck in general is I’d have liked the built in screen to be a 16:9 aspect ratio not 16:10 as most games are a 16:9 not 16:10 & even if it didn’t start out as a OLED I would’ve prefered them to have much smaller bezels but those a small gripes not game breaking. For the aspect ratio problem I now just stretch the image as I hate seeing black bars & avoid them like the plague.
I think most modern games use HDR now don’t they? Especially since most people have some sort of HDR capable display, and the latest consoles support HDR as well.

We need this sub to go back to the days where it was about the deck and not a social media meme page with false narratives, so shoo.
I just wish my 64gb deck actually had 64 gb storage, instead of 48gb
