  • I know the feeling…

Checked mine and found a dead green subpix in the top left quadrant.

Like you, had I not checked, I wouldn’t have seen it as no impact on black screen, small impact on blue and red (it seems a little off but could be imagination), green screen clearly dead (fully black) and white screen noticible as it’s a purple tinge.

Not sure if I will RMA or not

  • I agree that the new option will be $150 additional compared to the upgrading the SSD myself. I would just add to the list of benefits you had (screen/battery) also the fact of not having to actually do the upgrade (which is quick and will go well but still…)

-–Coping the comment I made elsewhere–

I have received a reply from Steam Support and they have offered:

    1. once received to return it (they will provide the information) - this will allow a full refund on my original payment method. I can then buy the new deck when it comes out
    2. get a refund to my steam wallet and repurchase the 64gb with that refund at the new lower price. The difference will remain in my steam wallet for future purchases, but I do not have to send the deck back
It all seems fairly reasonable, you could argue that even in case of 2 it would be great to have the refund applied to my original payment method but I will end up buying some games so it’s probably fair to use the wallet option.
      Though I suspect I’ll go with 1
