Depends, i went 8700k ->11700K -> 13600K so 2/3 years usually.
Ay, upgraded from an 11700K and got some pretty big gains, and it’s cool and quiet too on my Peerless Assassin.
I went from an 8700K to an 11700K in the pandemic because I had to buy an entire system to get an RTX 3080. I upgraded to a 13600K and it’s a decent boost in performance, both in games and apps. Is it necessary? Absolutely not, 8700K was still pretty awesome!!
