I don’t understand why people get more than of these capable handheld gaming PCs. I mean I know collecting is a thing, but damn, the thought of having more than just one actually gives me a weird feeling. Like, I would never be sure which one to use.

I have a Steam Deck and a Switch and even I feel like that’s a bit much. I don’t get it either. I mean hell, I’d get a big enough SSD to have Windows and SteamOS before I go out and buy a whole more expensive device just for Windows games

If I were a bigger gamer (only play games occasionally now). I’d definitely get a windows handheld to compliment my steam deck to play the latest AAA DRM games.
But as I only play games infrequently, and mostly games that have been out for a bit first, just having a steak deck is enough for me.

Different handhelds are better for different things. I like the Steam Deck for indie games and games that play better with the trackpad. I have an Aokzoe A1 Pro, which has a much bigger screen and better chip, making it much better for more demanding games and some indie games that still aren’t too well optimized for the Deck. I also have a GPD Win 4, which I use for work with the keypad.

For me I love having steam OS as its basically a console experience but I also love having a windows handheld that I can use like a laptip

PSP is nice because it’s really small. Sometimes you just want to throw something in your pocket and not worry about needing a bag or risk getting robbed for your deck

I’m kinda guilty, but each has a purpose. Steamdeck and Switch for obvious reasons. Then I have a Miyoo Mini Plus that basically just stays in my car.

For me: i have a big heart surgery in two weeks. And i am a OLED lover. Bought Legion Go for the Hospital and rehab 2 weeks ago. But also bought OLED Steamdeck for the games that are not on game pass, just because of the screen. Life is too short for compromises.

Good luck on the surgery. I’ve been in congestive heart failure since I was 39. I’ve outlived my doctors expectations. Hopefully you can do the same.

Good luck bro, if I had the money to spare I’d pick up a legion Go too tbh, it’s a cool device honestly even though I love my deck.

Been in cardiology for a week (I’m 25) I feel you, I wish I had a steam deck during that period to kill time

In case you fancy using the steamdeck for a small library of Gamepass games there’s actually a tutorial for setting up cloud gaming on steam deck so that it works like an game app almost. Includes links to files for icons and all.

It’s on microsofts website. Seemed to work quite nicely too, once I properly figured it out.

Native windows for gamepass and wider game support/compatibility is the answer I bet you’ll find the majority of the time. I have the deck and the rog ally so I can play destiny 2 because of anticheat that prevents it running on the deck, gamepass ease of use instead of cloud gaming only and battlenet for diablo4 (though that’s on steam now). I tied dual booting windows on the deck but I wasn’t thrilled with my experience

Id like the Legion just for the Windows games that I can’t play on my Steam Deck. I mod the hell out of my stuff and some mods just don’t seem to work on deck’s os

I feel the same way in the sense of having multiple x86. I have considered getting an ayn odin 2 for emulation and mobile games and just have the steamdeck for steamgames.

Go for home and steamdeck for travel? Also I hear you can turn the PSP into an excellent and highly pocketable emulation machine.

I currently have a switch and I’m looking to get either a deck or an Ally, think it makes sense for me because switch games are pretty limited

Yeah agreed. I get this exact same dilemma. I stupidly have two switches (a lite and an OG), a SteamDeck and a high end Snapdragon android device with a gamesir X2 controller. (only used for entertainment…no SIM in it).

Trying to consolidate everything on the deck and one Switch. No more handheld devices.

I have a miyoo mini which I can pocket and play up to SNES and PSX on the go. I played practically all of MGS 1 and Chono Trigger for the first time on that. I have a New 3DS XL because there is no good way to play DS and 3DS games on a handheld emulator. And I have a Steam Deck. I also have a DSi XL and Vita but I rarely use those and kinda regret buying them.

There is a better way to play DS and 3DS, but it is not cheap. It’s called Galaxy Fold. Just saying.

DSi XL is kind of redundant if you have a 3DS. But the Vita (modded, easily) is great to play everything PS1, PSP and Vita games.

Portable accessibility tbh. Some places are more convenient for certain handhelds than others.

If I’m going to a regular appointment for something and know I’ll be about 30 minutes I’ll bring my 3DS or Vita with me.

I had a major dental thing earlier this year that took the entire day so I brought my Steam deck with me

But also I just love handhelds in general and love collecting

I think he uses the LegionGO to play games the steam deck cannot play.

And the steam deck to play more indie games
