I’ve tried a couple sleeves/cases, some thumb caps, the stick on pads for L/R 4/5, and I always end up removing them because I actually prefer the feel of the plain Steam Deck. Anyone else have this happen where whatever they slide or stick onto their Deck makes it feel “wrong”?
I tried putting one on mine but couldn’t get the air bubbles out
Spray it with alcohol apply the screen protector then squeegee it with something flat
I find it’s necessary to run a hot shower for a few minutes, get the bathroom steamy, and apply it there. I’ve applied two screen protectors in my life that way and both times they’ve worked near flawlessly.
Every time I do it without the help of steam, it’s a bubble fest.
Using literal steam to mod your steam deck. What a boss
A small spray bottle with distilled water can also be used, a light misting of the screen and then a CC or plastic scraper and the water will push the air bubbles out. Less is more when it comes to spraying your screen with anything.
I like the hot shower solution too.
I like to use alcohol. Evaporates quicker and won’t harm components.
This is a good way to do it, it makes sure you don’t get lots of dust floating in the air.
Distilled water is safer on most screens and it won’t harm anything. IPA can damage some screen coatings.
Go for the jsaux one. It has an easy application case that comes with it
Does it fit the OLED model fine?
The glass is the same size.
For some reason I thought it was slightly bigger!
Just ordered one. Thanks!
The screen is bigger but the screen protector fits around the glass panel…which is same size as the LCD model
Exactly what Mashraf86 said. The glass panel is the same, just how much is displayed on said panel is changed (black border is smaller).
Which one the anti glare or HD clarity?
The HD one
I went for the HD Clarity one. Think it’s pretty decent
