And the screen looks fantastic. Some people here had me nervous and if you’ve been on the thread you’d think it was the end of the world and you’d have to instant RMA your device due to dead pixels.

Just wanted to add a positive note. My LE arrives pristine with no issues whatsoever.

FYI: RMA’s are usually done using refurbished or returned units. Valve’s validation process clearly thinks a certain number of dead pixels is fine, so RMA’ed units for replacement just for dead pixels are going back into the pool for replacement without the dead pixels being addressed.

You’ll probably start trading dead pixel units for dead pixels units, given how many are saying they’re having it replaced and how “limited” the run actually is.

And every reported LE comes with a BOE panel. So far, every non-LE comes with a Samsung panel.

If you want off the dead pixels train, you may have to abandon the LE or do a full return and re-buy entirely.

That’s disheartening. I’m not willing to give up my LE colorway because their shit qc. If my replacement has a dead pixel, I may have to wait until Samsung replacement panels become available and buy those. And I’d also trust valve less after that.

Do you have a source in this? I don’t really believe this, even USA warranty laws cover this. They wouldn’t replace a brand new unit with a refurb (which they already charge less for).
