As long as AMD dominates the console graphics segment and makes decent money on that, they will role over the tech into consumer cards for a bit of extra cash. There’s no reason not to, the AIB partners are doing most of the additional work beyond drivers.
Consumer cards are a bonus for AMD, their bread and butter in the graphics space are consoles and to a growing degree AI / data center space (though Nvidia still has a huge lead there, but it’s sooo lucrative who cares?). As long as profits on consumer cards are acceptable up the chain, they’ll continue even if Nvidia has 80%+ market share.
