No, it’s incredible. This doesn’t do it justice. I’m not sitting playing my deck under studio lights, so I don’t have this issue. It completely negates glare, and is such a treat to look at

The Phawx said he preferred the etched on the OLED. And he and I usually agree on most topics in this space. It’s definitely a consideration though.

I think it’s somewhat misleading considering that most people aren’t playing in a room with studio lights. By far the most common cause of glare is windows. It’d be more accurate to compare in a room with like one light on and the blinds open.

Get the 512GB if you want the most accurate OLED experience. If you use the matte with lights behind you, it will crush pure blacks into LCD territory and reduce the contrast. Of course, glossy means more reflections on the panel itself so also downsides.

Just think about the environments where you will most use the SD and pick the panel accordingly.

I’ve always loved the 512gb Deck screen. No reflection, can play in almost all situation. The glossy screens on the other hand are full of reflections. I’d go etched over glossy everytime. Good for using as mirrors though. I installed deckky for the odd game that was washed out - even then barely at 110-113.The bane of my life is my 60" tv (excellent blacks & picture) but this one is glossy & reflections from all angles makes it almost impossible to watch from certain places/angles because of windows making shades or curtains a must & be used, I enjoy sitting in a room soaking up some vitamin D especially during the winter.
