as in, will 15th arrow lake desktop chips outclass everything before it so much (50% more perf ) that alder and raptor lakes become irrelevant anciant tech?or will it be onpy incremential?
what do you guys think?
if the leak/rumours are true, nova lake should be the next big thing
16 pcores/32ecores… when arrow lake will still be stuck at 8pcore, i plan to replace my 12900k with the i9 nova lake cpu
if you are a weirdo who upgrades every year then just do you and upgrade every year.
if you have a reasonably old system (5 years) then there is absolutely nothing wrong with upgrading to raptor lake 13/14 gen. there is no benefit to waiting cause next gen is just gonna be outdone next gen
weirdo i chose to become… what else is there to do in life? wife and dont want kids, dont like going out… dont have tv, PC is the only thing i do all day lol
then why worry? just upgrade and be happy. you will get another chance next year :)
im just here for the rumors and to listen to what people think ^^

Current rumors are 5% ST and 15% MT
Eh if ever there was a generation to skip, 14th gen is it. I’m with the poster who is expecting intel to start making strides again around 16th-17th generation. As they said “IF” Intel stick to their roadmap.
old numbers make me want to puke. i cant stand being a pleb, i need help
Shoot I’m still running a 10850k. Haven’t ran into an app/game thats forced that upgrade itch on me yet. I’ll probably keep running it clear into 16th-17th gen. LOL
Yeah… We heard this every time a new gen of something was announced. Have DDR5 destroyed DDR4 yet? Did the Nvidia 4xxx series made every 3xxx card obsolete? Was any of them twice as fast as their previous gen counterpart?
Unless someone comes up suddenly with a quantum computer, no new gen of anything will make the previous gen obsolete overnight.
It’s not out yet and 50% is just hype train, not a reality as of now. And if you have a modern CPU there is no point upgrading every generation.
old numbers make me sick…i cant stand it
Time to get my old and dusty crystal ball from the basement…
Only possible way I see a big jump is in gaming if Intel adds a bigger cache to counter AMD x3D.
