The improved thermals, faster download speeds and longer charging cable, in that order, are the most standout things to me besides the screen

yep, my brain went to standard pc terms. Still no performance benefits in terms of increased power that i know of but you are right
Gpu is no different, cpu is more or less the same as well but with slightly better thermals and smaller form factor iirc
Lords7Never7Die@alien.topBtoSteam Deck•PSA: Your LCD Steam Deck is not suddenly obsolete now that the OLED model has been announced.English1·2 years agoI fall almost exactly into the 18 month category. I already have logged close to 300 hrs on the deck and play mostly handheld mode so the OLED with the upgrades makes sense. Even if i have to sell the deck for $300-350, its worth it to me. I’m honestly surprised the one detail most people haven’t even brought up at all is that it will have threaded screw holes for the chassis. That’s huge compared to the self tapping screws we have now. I love my deck, but I have the spare cash combined with whatever i sell it for, so I’m probably gonna hop on board. I have loved what I’ve gotten out of it and am happy to make someone else happy while upgrading for cheaper than I would otherwise.
