Is the dead pixel thing or “weird colorations” or whatever a big thing that laypeople will notice?

I use the Deck “as is”. The default carrying case is pretty great imo and I don’t like to add accessories.
I ordered a week ago. Still waiting to get past the packaged items stage (In Ontario Canada). I think if there’s a delay like this they should, imo, offer a refund and cancel the order if requested.
Dishonored 2 is under $10. Runs great on Deck at 40hz.
I was worried due to the discourse surrounding etched versus glossy but I am liking this. I’m crying in Canada right now because there’s a delay in shipping but can’t wait lol.
Valve is underselling the improvements big time.
Oh is that why it was unsupported? I noticed a few Yakuza games are unsupported on Deck but the rest were verified. This is good news.
I’m at “packaging items” but apparently there’s a shipping delay in Canada.
Keeping it. Maybe I’ll experiment or have it as a backup.
I think they could have gave some more heads up, maybe a few months ago, and be like “hey we got an OLED refresh coming in Fall 2023 or November 2023” or something like that. But it could be worse…they could have released this within the first 10 months of its lifecycle when a lot of people were still on a wait list. Maybe things have settled down now and sales went down? They wanted to renew interest perhaps?
Congrats! And of course this means a lot to you, as it should.
I think this is great for some people on the fence but it doesn’t bring significant increase in performance compared to other models. This isn’t going to make Starfield (or games as intensive) medium settings 40 fps locked. Now hopefully in a couple of years that kind of model is coming.
that sounds like a statements someone makes after they found out they are dying.
