If you are planning long term definitely get the S23. 4 years of Android software support and 5 years of security updates are guaranteed on the S23, but not on the A54 that is a low-midrange phone with 4GB RAM (on the base model) and a shitty Exynos chip.

Even in the US where iOS is the most dominant Android has a majority market share of 53.9%, iOS has around 45.6%.

When you look at it worldwide, Android has more than 2/3rd of the market with 70.5% market share, while iOS 28.8%.

Apple needs a lot more competitive pricing if they want to ever overtake Android, especially outside of the US. Sure they are popular among US teens who mostly care about what they see on TikTok or in the hand of their classmates, but the world doesn’t work like that.

Are you living in Europe? If the answer is yes, buy the S23.

If the answer is no, wait for the S24.

Reason is that the S23 is equipped with Snapdragon SoC, while the S24 will have Samsung’s in-house Exynos. The difference between the two are so huge in efficiency and modem quality that you are better off buying the older model than a S24.
