like everyone else has said, depends what you play. i dock mine to a 165hz 24 inch 1080p monitor with KBM on my desk, run games at 720p with upscaling and it absolutely blows my mind

i was running minecraft java in desktop mode docked earlier at a solid 160fps with discord open on the deck screen underneath the external monitor, and spotify running in the background and it didn’t even break a sweat

same thing with phasmophobia. desktop mode with the same discord setup, minus spotify, 720p upscaled to 1080 with FSR (ultra quality mode) medium settings, with full textures, sitting at 100-110fps

i have a PS5 which handles the heavy lifting, so to speak. anything that pretty much needs high fidelity, i’ll just play on that on my 4K TV. as a lighter game system, it’s absolutely fantastic, but throw anything modern and demanding at it and it’ll fall out with you very quickly

ah, just updated preview channel to 3.5.6 and it seems to have fixed the issues, was worried it was hardware for a second haha

microphone on both 3.5mm earphones and internal microphone on mine are dead seemingly

is this in stable or preview channel? i dont keep up with updates too much

no. impulse brain has worn off, i don’t need it. my 512GB is everything i need and more already

thunderbolt which would allow us to dock to an external GPU for supercharged desktop performance, and the experience we all know and love on the go. THIS would be a true “switch” experience and a lot of people wouldn’t need anything else

imo valve don’t really care. it’s not ideal for the consumer but absolutely fantastic for them. dirt cheap used decks on the market means more new customers to the steam marketplace ultimately, making it even more accessible than it’s ever been. they know what they’re doing
