Over the past year I’ve been losing interest in playing anything whatsoever, everything I’ve touched I almost drop instantly or play very little.
I have took many breaks, I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I’m willing to give trying the deck a shot to see if I can find some spark of enjoyment again. Has anyone formed a love for gaming again after being out of touch with it for a long time?
I used to have a ginormous gaming collection, every console I ever wanted, every game and some rare ones at that. (Earthbound, Persona 3 portable, etc.) I got nauseated at the collection, eventually for personal reasons, and decided to sell the entire thing, I quit my job at a game store at the time and quit gaming altogether. I felt like a complete failure in a way. But eventually, my friend got me into the deck, I never even realized that this was the dream system I always wanted as a kid. The system that can do anything for the most part and is a hybrid. This is all I have now that I consistently use whenever I can game these days and I am so much more happier whenever I get to play now than I was when I had everything I ever wanted at the time.
I wish. I find of just stare at it and imagine playing a game. Then fall asleep
I’ve started chunking away at the backlog and playing old childhood games. I used to just play the same 2 MMOs, and got bored of gaming.
Without my deck I would only be playing with my phone
Funny enough my most play games on Deck are Indies that have mobile ports:
Slay the Spire
Brotato
Binding of Isaac(I think)
No ads is great. Mobile games used to be great before the greed.
You are me!
I might also add to the list:
Stardew valley
Dave the diver
Whip the deck out wherever vs going to a separate room to play desktop/ console away from my wife and kids.
I’d say yes. Beforehand my deck of pretty much only plaid COD with my brother. But now I play a lot more story driven games.
I was a Switch player for years, love handheld gaming. I like to have a movie or something on the tv in the background instead. After 2 years of religiously playing Animal Crossing New Horizons I sort of just ran out of things to do. No game really captured me. When Hogwarts Legacy was coming out I was super hyped for it, but just didn’t want to play it on Switch so I bought a Steam Deck just for the game. I really enjoyed the game, but more than that I finally was excited about gaming again. The Deck really opened me up to a ton of games I couldn’t play handheld before. Always seem to have something to play these days.
Yes. About 40 games completed this year vs just a couple in recent years.
Deck got me into loving handhelds all over again. I enjoyed my time with the og deck and then a bit with the ally…but I sold that ally and got that OLED deck cause man I was just missing that clean console vibe in the palm of my hands so much.
Yes. Been gaming a lot more and more importantly for valve, buying a metric fücklódë of games
Yeh.
I’m playing death stranding.
I have literally no idea what I’m doing, how to do it, or what’s going on.
I love it.
That game got a lot of hate but I loved it. I also played it in the most perfect time in my life to play it. Most of my friends were moving away to college while I was too broke to do that and too stupid to get scholarships. It was a very lonely experience and death stranding was extremely cathartic. Just me, my packages, and the post apocalyptic wilderness connecting a broken world. Very fun.
how it performs on deck? what fps nd on what settings
Started playing more indies, recently fell in love with cult of the lamb. If we consider that indie
I never fully stopped but played a lot less frequently. The ease of use of the steam deck and being able to pick it up and put it down with pretty much no delay has gotten me back into both longer gaming sessions and short 15-30 minute plays
Has anyone been playing less since the oled was announced? Loved my lcd. Now it’s sad in the corner and I’m just pondering life.
If someone isn’t a gamer I don’t think they’d buy a steam deck.
once you get the hang of everything it’s pretty seamless yeah I’d say it’s making me want to game more than I already was
