I own a LCD steam deck I got over a year ago and just received my OLED deck. The screen looks great hover the face buttons rattle and the sticks “click” when moving into any direction from the center.

I still love it but it sad to see, does anyone else notice that or did I just get unlucky with my unit?

I think my only issue between the 12/2022 LCD model I used to own (sold on eBay) and the new 512GB OLED model are the rattling buttons. It’s more of an annoyance than anything. I have a feeling they need to be worn in a bit.

My sticks seem tight and the rest of the rig is more or less identical. The clickier Steam and … Buttons feel like a direct upgrade as does the new D-pad.

Really? My Steam Deck LCD (April 2022 version) had worst build quality in my opinion. Steam, “…” and other small buttons + power button were not working all the time after 2-3 months of usage. On OLED they actually click and they are not mushy anymore. Plus the power button works without doing that much pressure. D-Pad is actually usable now. Maybe it was my LCD unit that had sht D-PAD. Idk. Steam did many revision after my deck lcd so maybe your deck had a better build quality

I can’t say the same for my unit. The sticks feel much better, smoother. The left stick doesn’t seem to grind against the shell like it did with my LCD model.

My OLED’s build quality feels perfect, tbh. I love how the new bumpers feel, the sticks are pretty much the same, the triggers are the same or better, and my D-pad is actually quieter- the one on my LCD was super squeaky when pressed sideways. The ABXY buttons on mine don’t really rattle at all either.

I’m a very happy camper with mine.

Yeah I think the plastic faceplate and backplate are made of cheaper or thinner plastic. They scuffed really easily when I was using a plastic pry tool to swap out the SSD (LCD one sustained no noticeable blemishes)
