  • At home, always. Can use it at work, but choose not to since I can’t really get into a game when I have other shit to concentrate on.

Usually play on the couch or in bed. Sometimes docked, depends on the game.

I have other consoles (Series X, Switch, did have a PS5, plan to get a slim model) and a PC (3080Ti/i7 12700).

I have a very straightforward way of playing each system. If a game I want to play is exclusive to a console, I play it on that console. If it has a PC port, I buy it on Steam. If it’s online multiplayer, I play it on my PC or on PlayStation with my friends that have a PS5.

As long as the performance is good enough for the type of game it is, I generally play more on my deck than PC due to convenience. That could be 20-30FPS, solid 30, 40, solid 60, or an unlocked 40-60fps. Just depends on the type of game for me.

  • I feel like the joysticks are in a good place, it’s the face buttons and trackpad that aren’t. Personally speaking, for my hands.

The face buttons are just kinda squished up the corners. The trackpads, I have to curl my thumb to use. The sticks, they’re in a place where my thumbs reach them with a neutral position.

I also feel like the device is too straight at the sides. Which prevents me from holding it with a neutral wrist position. It really should have a bit of an angle to the sides of the device imo. I’m still looking for a case that fulfils that grip position.

  • Being somewhat time constrained, the deck actually makes it possible for me to play larger story based games without feeling the need to play for 2-4 hours at a time.

I can play for half an hour or an hour, put it to sleep and just pick it back up later from where I left off. Still an immersive experience too.

All you really lose is graphical fidelity and performance, but that’s traded for convenience.
