Hello I moved to the EU a few months ago with my galaxy s23 ultra, bought from the USA and I’ve noticed I don’t receive any updates and the samsung member app says “not support in this region”. Is there any way I could fix this?
Maybe a VPN back to the US might work? Just a thought.
I’ve had same issue. My suggestion is to download smart switch on your pc/mac and connect it with your s23. It’ll automaticlly check for latest updates and asks if you want to download it.Basically how i updated my phone
I did try that it says my phone is up to date but i didnt update sincer june
hmm thats really strange… Try updating both smart switch apps and might as well try the vpn option when connecting as well.
Your phone needs to be the european version otherwise it won’t work
There is no way to bypass this region lock?
Maybe there is i don’t know but i don’t recommend playing with things since one ui 6 will come soon anyway
There are ways of bypassing it. I once worked at telecom company and one solution for my clients was to insert EU sim card in the phone, leave it there for 30min (or 3h, lol I dont remember how long), make a phone call, answer it on the other end, speak for 30 sec and then the phone should be unlocked. It this doesn’t help, go to Samsung store or your telecommunications operator and ask for a different solution.
update manually with odin3 (it’s just like a normal flash, but using home_csc instead of csc)
I think you could probably clear data on everything, and it should work. Have you tried resetting it?
Because I don’t believe that it would stay region locked for certain region when it’s in a different region.
Every S23 by now should’ve gotten Andriod 14 updates.
I don’t have the updates. S23 256gb, in hk.

For OTA update, flash the CSC to EU and insert EU SIM.
