For Control, it’s actually a mod made by one of the devs who added native HDR. Kind of a weird situation where a person who worked on the game made it but it’s not an official patch. Maybe that’s why you thought it should work. Don’t know if the mod can be installed on deck but here it is:

I see what you did there.

I think maybe you got confused by the fact that you can download games you already own on Steam but some just don’t work on the Steam Deck or don’t run well because the Deck is not powerful enough. Buying a Steam Deck doesn’t give you any games for free as part of the purchase.

Ok, then return it to Valve. Not worth compromising your mental health over it if paying $700 for a machine with buttons that are “a little loose” is causing you so much worry.

Ordered 19 minutes after being available (the LE model). Got the tracking number today and it’s in California. Says it should be here Monday. 7 business days, 11 days total.

I got the LE because I don’t have a Steam Deck already and 512gb is too little space.

My reasoning is this: 1tb is good enough for now plus a 512gb SD card I have to throw in there. I don’t want to get a 512gb and gave to immediately open up my brand new device, possibly damaging it, and spend the same as the difference between the two devices to buy a 2tb SSD and then have a 512gb SSD I have no use for sitting around. Plus I want the LE colorway and etched screen. As a new Steam Deck owner, there’s plenty of justification.

Still not good. It’s not really playable because it’s a fast paced game and requires quick reactions so it would be bad at 30 fps but it can’t even maintain that. Dips into the 20s constantly.
