  • I think it is very comfortable. Not as comfortable as my Xbox Series Controller, 360 controller or my PlayStation 5 controller but definitely very enjoyable to use. There was an adjustment period, especially to the analogue sticks. The weight is there. I don’t hold the deck with my arms fully extended so usually rest my arms on something. Like my lap, stomach, sides of the bed. You should be able to figure out what works for you once you have it in your hands

  • Before getting any game for it, or the Steam Deck for that matter, I suggest going on YouTube and see how it runs on Steam Deck.

It’s a great way to find out what to expect and they will usually show what settings they use and how to set them should that be necessary in the first place.

You can play loads of multiplayer games and It connects to the TV just fine with just a cable. For the best experience it’s worth getting a dock.

Steam does not have any subscription at all.

If you are very new to gaming in general and PC gaming especially, i suggest getting the OLED model for the best experience. It’s the “refined” version where Valve has improved upon many aspects people have been complaining about.

  • DigGumPig@alien.topBtoSteam DeckReally want that oled now.

I am sort of torn between 3 different states of feelings right now. One is this meme, another is me on the fence about actually getting one and third being completely contempt with the one i’ve got.

That being said, i’ll see how i feel about the OLED model sometime next year when i hope they put it on sale.

Until then, i’m quite happy being excited about SteamOS 3.5 I believe it’s a solid guess that they will release it along side the Oled Steam Deck launch.

  • I have applied a Matte screen protector onto my Steam Deck last week actually.

I love it. Specifically because it acts as free antialiasing over every element on-screen.

One drawback of sorts is that max brightness seems to be reduced and colors aren’t as “sharp” i guess but i don’t really care. It even added warmth to the displayed image which was a bit surprising.

Although a gloss screen without a matte screen protector produces an clearer, sharper and slightly more vivid image overall, i still prefer the benefits that matte finish offers and they outweigh the cons.

And i’m glad that worked out for you.
