I don’t see the need for any accessories.

It’s ergonomic, any case is going to make it heavier without adding ergonomics.

Perhaps the JSAUX backplate because improved cooling? The OLED model addressed this and I upgraded.

I see the appeal in vinyl skins but I have the LE OLED now so I don’t want to hide it.

I don’t think the deck needs a screen protector.

Not sure if any other accessories make sense to me. I have a JSAUX and official docking station. Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

No judgement but if you’re buying a Steam Deck to play triple A modern games you’re really missing out. PS5 or Series X/S are a superior experience.

If that’s your cup of tea that’s fine, but the deck shines for playing indie games IMO. And emulation, playing the old Fire Emblem games for the first time is amazing.

Games I always want to play but not worth taking the living room TV, no problem play on the deck kids get TV.

At $949 that’s about $100 in profit if they charge shipping.

To make it worth it should be a profit of $150 IMO.

I paid $720 after sales tax for my LE.

I’d have to sell it for $950 and charge shipping cost to make $100 profit. That’s roughly 11% margin, and 30% markup would only be $882, that would be $44 gained at 5% margin.

They never sold out. They did a common strategy of saying it was sold out for about 15 minutes. Then showing more stock.

This makes people give up, and the botters leave.

Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft have all done this as well for online sales.

I am shocked it’s still not sold out at this point. All OLED models are available, I don’t think the demand is very high, but more importantly I think the days of chip shortages are clearly behind us for now.

It’s now almost 9PM EST 8 hours later and ALL models are still available lol.

There is some performance boost 3-8% game to game. But it’s due to the faster DDR 5 RAM they sourced.

Last I checked there is no GPU or CPU, SD has an APU.

The APU is 6nm now instead of 7 and has better thermals and efficiency.
