Can I hijack this to ask if anyone has been able to have animated game art without causing the interface to slow down and lag when you move through your library? I added animated art to 8 or so of my games, but the UI would frequently hang for a second or two as I was moving around. I had to take the animated artwork off, because it just wasn’t worth it. It looks so pretty though.

• Get Decky going on your Steam Deck, it works awesome and I have not had any big issues. The ones I use are: ProtonDB, Animation Changer, Storage Cleaner, VibrantDeck, Steam Grid DB, CSS Loader and Bluetooth. Adds many good things that I find useful. Get Decky and mess around to see what ones work best for you.

I had my OG 512 Deck for over a year, and never bothered putting Decky on it. I finally did it on my OLED the other day, and I absolutely love it. I’ve got HLTB, ProtonDB badges, Switch home screen, CSS Loader, and more. I’ve already spent an obscene amount of time just browsing all the custom artwork for games. I could not recommend Decky enough. Every Deck owner should be using it.

Which HDR option should we be taking for Cyberpunk?

Same. Got mine on Friday. Zero issues. I just need to finish moving over my Emudeck from my old Deck, and redownlod Battlenet and WoW and then I’m right back to where I was with the old Deck.

I love Skyrim, and enjoyed Fallout 3, but I just have zero interest in this game. I even installed it on Game Pass weeks ago to try streaming it to my Deck but can’t even bring myself to launch it. Everything I’ve ever read about it just screams mediocrity. I’m honestly deeply concerned for TES VI now.

Just got mine a few hours ago. It’s perfect. I could feel the difference in weight between it and my OG 512 immediately, and was blown away by the colors when I turned it on. It’s happily downloading games right now. I also have to say, the LE colorway is gorgeous in person.

The only issue I have with it is it seems to have turned my son (who has his own OG 512) green with envy. He sat on the couch staring at it, like he was about to go full Gollum mode.

Mine was originally showing as picked up by UPS, but “delayed”. Then it was showing as due to arrive today. Then I checked yesterday, and it was “delayed” again and changed to Friday. The “delay” has since vanished and reappeared. Still showing Friday, though. The extra two days after anticipating getting it today are painful.

This is exactly what happened with my OG Deck. FedEx driver stopped in front of my house for 2 mins, messed around in the back, and then sat back down and drove off. There’s only one way in/out of my neighborhood, so I went outside and waited for him to come back. I flagged him down, and told him he had a package for me. He said, “It’s not on the truck.” I asked if he could pull over and check again, because I’ve been waiting on this package for over a year.

He stopped back in front of my house. It took me almost a minute to catch back up to him after he stopped. I walked around the front of the truck, and could see him in the back just looking at his phone. I could also see the truck was nearly empty. This was around 7:30PM, so there weren’t even 6 boxes left on this guy’s truck. I tell him my name and address again, and that the box is a long flat rectangle, basically shaped like a keyboard. He picks up one big square box, looks at the label, and sets it back on the shelf. Then he picks up a second smaller box, looks at the label, and puts it back on the shelf. Before he set it down, I recognized the little black logos along the side and said, “That’s it.” He picks it back up and just hands it to me, without even checking the label again. The box was also on the top of the shelf, right behind his seat. To the point that he could have grabbed it without even getting up. There’s no way he missed it TWICE, on a near empty truck, and once with a detailed description of the size of it. He 100% was trying to steal it. If I had climbed on his truck to look for it myself, I would have found it in two seconds. And I watched this guy look at the label right in front of me, and try to put it back like it wasn’t my box. He would have gotten away with it if not for the companion cube logos and such.

I’m 40 years old. I order shit online all the time. I get 2-3 boxes a week. That’s the only time in my life I’ve ever had a driver be unable to “find” my package. And it just so happened to be a clearly labeled box, that was going “missing” from trucks everywhere, whose contents were selling on Ebay for over $1000. It’s too much to be a coincidence.

BG3 is fantastic on the Deck, IF you have a desktop to stream it from. I tried both playing it natively at the locked 24fps preset that was popular at launch, and streaming from my desktop on Ultra settings at 60fps. Once I tried it streaming, I couldn’t go back to native.

Dude, I’m upvoting this just because the day before the OLED got announced, I was about to pull the trigger on this same shell. Was wondering how it would look if I kept the original buttons and trackpads. This looks sick as fuck. I’ve been wanting this shell since before I even got my Deck. I too had the kiwi GBC growing up.

Now that my 512GB is going to be a spare Deck, I’m going to do this. That way I won’t be too upset if I fuck something up.

I had given up on the LE. At about 45 mins after launch, I went back to the tab on my phone where I had a standard 1TB in the cart and ready to confirm my purchase. I backed out of it at the last second, went back to the LE, and was able to check out with no problem.

Chad move is buying yourself an OLED, then giving your OLED to your kid when you get a Deck 2.

I waited over a year for my OG Deck to arrive, and I’m not upset about it at all. Valve doesn’t owe any of us anything. They sell a device, you can purchase it if you choose to. Personally, I can’t wait to get an OLED. I barely even feel like playing anything on my current Deck now that I know the OLED is coming.

The only thing that would be cool is if they gave early adopters first crack at the limited edition, but again, they don’t owe us anything.

Not sure what you’re on about. I bought an OLED Switch for both of my kids, and after seeing a game playing on it for a few seconds, it made me not want to play my OG Switch or my Lite at all. When the Metroid Prime remaster came out, I played it on my daughter’s OLED.

I got an OG 512 Deck that I use daily. I will absolutely be getting an OLED Deck, and it will absolutely be worth it to me. Spending 2 days’ pay on an upgrade to a device I use every single day is 100% worth it.

I’m going to try and get a limited edition OLED (will just get the regular OLED if I can’t). If I can get around $300 for my current 512, I may sell it. If not, I’ll reset it and keep it for my wife our daughter. Then when the Deck 2 comes out, I’ll get one of those, and give my son my OLED to replace his OG 512.
